BOLKIAH GARRISON, Mon 8 Jan 2005​ - The Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Yang imuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof received a farewell call this morning from the Malaysian Chief of Defence Forces, Yang Berbahagia Laksamana Tan Sri Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Anwar bin Haji Mohd Nor at the Ministry of Defence in Bolkiah Garrison.

Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defence, the Malaysian Chief of Defence Forces received a General Salute and inspected the Guard of Honour comprising of personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF). Yang Berbahagia Laksamana also pay a farewell call to Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Deputy Minister of Defence soon after his call to the Commander of RBAF.​

Yang Berbahagia Laksamana Tan Sri Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Anwar has been in the sultanate since January 5 and will be returning home later this morning. This farewell visit aims to strengthen the long established bilateral military relationship while at the same time giving the opportunity to both armed forces to pursue further cooperation in the future.​
