CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE 12th BRUNEI-SINGAPORE DEFENCE SCHOLARS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME - SINGAPORE PHASE
THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, Saturday, 13 August 2022 – As part of the wider goal in enhancing leadership skills and character development, a total of 16 students have completed the 12th intake of the Brunei-Singapore Defence Scholars Development Programme (12th BSDSDP2022). Participants of the programmes received their certificates in a closing ceremony at the Officer’s Mess, Singapore Armed Force Training Institute – Military Institute (SAFTI-MI). 

Present as Guests of Honours were Mr. Chan Heng Kee, Permanent Secretary (Defence), Ministry of Defence, Republic of Singapore and Mr. Haji Adi Ihram bin Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy & Strategy), Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam.

In his closing remarks, the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy & Strategy), Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam underscored the important long-standing bilateral relationship between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore. He further highlighted the key role that Brunei Darussalam and Republic Singapore scholars will take on as future generation leaders to build in the strong foundations and to take on bilateral cooperation further. 

The Brunei-Singapore Defence Scholars Development programme is held annually since 2007. For this year, the theme of the programme is ‘Military Orientation’ which focuses on exposure to the three military units (Land, Navy and Air Force) of both countries.

On the sidelines of the programme, the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy & Strategy), Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam had an opportunity to make a courtesy call to His Excellency Zaqy Mohamad, Senior Minister of State for Defence Republic of Singapore. During the call, both sides exchanged views on the current security developments in the region and reaffirmed the special longstanding ties between the two countries with a view to enhance and strengthen cooperation further.







MAJLIS PENUTUP BAGI 12TH BRUNEI-SINGAPORE DEFENCE SCHOLARS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME – FASA SINGAPURA 2022

REPUBLIK SINGAPURA, Sabtu, 13 Ogos 2022 – Ke arah mencapai matlamat untuk meningkatkan kemahiran kepimpinan dan pembangunan keperibadian, seramai 16 orang penuntut telah berjaya menamatkan Brunei-Singapore Defence Scholars Development Programme 2022 (12th BSDSDP2022) yang ke-12. Peserta-peserta program telah menerima sijil semasa Majlis Penutup yang diadakan di Mes Pegawai, Singapore Armed Force Training Institute – Military Institute (SAFTI-MI).

Hadir selaku tetamu-tetamu kehormat ialah Tuan Chan Heng Kee, Setiausaha Tetap (Pertahanan), Kementerian Pertahanan, Republik Singapura dan Tuan Haji Adi Ihram bin Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Dasar dan Strategi), Kementerian Pertahanan, Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Semasa menyampaikan ucapan penutup, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Dasar dan Strategi), Kementerian Pertahanan, Negara Brunei Darussalam memberi penekanan terhadap hubungan dua-hala Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Singapura yang telah terjalin sejak sekian lama. Beliau seterusnya menggariskan peranan penting penerima biasiswa Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Singapura sebagai pemimpin-pemimpin masa hadapan dalam memperkukuhkan lagi asas hubungan yang dibina serta memperkembangluaskan kerjasama dua-hala.

Program Brunei-Singapore Defence Scholars Development lazimnya diadakan pada setiap tahun sejak tahun 2007. Untuk tahun ini, tema program adalah ‘Orientasi Ketenteraan’ yang memfokuskan pendedahan kepada ketiga-tiga unit tentera kedua-dua buah negara iaitu Darat, Laut dan Udara. 

Di samping program tersebut, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Dasar dan Strategi), Kementerian Pertahanan, Negara Brunei Darussalam turut berkesempatan membuat kunjungan hormat kepada Tuan Yang Terutama Zaqy Mohamad, Senior Minister of State for Defence Republic of Singapore. Semasa kunjungan tersebut, kedua-dua pihak bertukar-tukar pandangan mengenai perkembangan keselamatan semasa di rantau ini dan mengulangi semula hubungan istimewa yang terjalin lama di antara kedua-dua negara dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan dan mengukuhkan lagi kerjasama.
