KAMPONG PULAIE, Friday, 20 January 2023 – Captain Sheril Shahizwan bin Tikom, an officer from the Combat Engineer Squadron of the Support Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force (CES Sp Bn RBLF) has recited his Islamic oath at the Islamic Da'wah Centre, Kampong Pulaie witnessed by officers from the CES Sp Bn RBLF and Islamic Da'wah Centre as well as family members of the new convert.
The ceremony began with the recital of verses from the Al-Qur'an and the declaration of Syahadah (declaration of faith) by Captain Sheril Shahizwan bin Tikom, led by an officer from the Islamic Da'wah Centre. This was followed by a gift presentation from the Islamic Da'wah Centre presented by the father of the new convert, Tikom bin Muhd Subhi @Subi and concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.
As part of the foundation of embracing the Islamic faith, Captain Sheril Shahizwan bin Tikom decided to retain his original name for his Islamic name. This conversion ceremony was hoped to spread the message of Islam amongst RBAF personnel.
PEGAWAI DARIPADA BATALION BANTU TENTERA DARAT DIRAJA BRUNEI MEMELUK AGAMA ISLAM
PULAIE, Jumaat, 20 Januari 2023 – Kapten Sheril Shahizwan bin Tikom, pegawai daripada Skuadron Jurutera Tempur, Batalion Bantu Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (SJT, Bn Bntu TDDB), pada hari ini telah memilih untuk melafazkan dua kalimah syahadah dan ikrar pengakuan pengislamannya hari ini bertempat di Pusat Da'wah Islamiah, Kampung Pulaie. Hadir di majlis tersebut ialah pegawai-pegawai daripada SJT, Bn Bntu TDDB dan Pusat Da'wah Islamiah serta ahli keluarga saudara baru.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan ayat-ayat suci Al-Quran, diikuti dengan lafaz syahadah oleh Kapten Sheril Shahizwan bin Tikom yang dipimpin oleh pegawai dari Pusat Da'wah Islamiah. Majlis diteruskan dengan penyampaian cenderahati daripada Pusat Da'wah Islamiah yang disampaikan oleh baoa kepada saudara baru tersebut, Tikom bin Muhd Subhi @Subi dan diakhiri dengan bacaan Doa Selamat.
Sebagai sebahagian daripada pegangan agama Islam, Kapten Sheril Shahizwan bin Tikom telah memilih untuk menggunakan nama asal beliau sebagai nama Islam. Majlis pengislaman ini diharapkan supaya akan dapat menyebarkan lagi syiar dakwah Agama Islam di kalangan warga ABDB.
