The Ministry of Defence would like to inform the public especially applicants who are interested in pursuing a career as Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Officers, that the entry requirements for the RBAF Officer Cadets have been updated. The previous implementation of the English Proficiency Test as part of the entry requirements has been terminated. As a result, English Language qualification will now be a main criteria for entry.

Applicants must have one of the following minimum English Language qualifications:

• Grade Credit 6 in GCE ‘O’ Level English Language; or
• Grade B in IGCSE English as a Second Language; or
• ​Score of 6.0 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS – Academic); or
• Overall score of at least 550 in Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

The English language qualification is in line with the entry requirements of the Bachelor of Defence and Security Studies (BDSS) program, which will be awarded by Universiti Brunei Darussalam to the RBAF Officers upon successful completion of all three courses conducted by the RBAF Defence Academy; the Officer Cadet Course (OCS), the Junior Officer Development Course (JODC) and the Intermediate Staff Course (ISC). 

These updated entry requirements will take effect during the upcoming RBAF Officer Cadets Intake 25.

BAKAL-BAKAL PEGAWAI KADET ANGKATAN BERSENJATA DIRAJA BRUNEI

Kementerian Pertahanan ingin memaklumkan kepada orang ramai terutama sekali kepada para pemohon yang berkeinginan untuk meyertai kerjaya sebagai Pegawai Tentera Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) bahawa syarat-syarat kemasukan bagi Bakal-Bakal Pegawai Kadet ABDB telah dikemaskini.  Perlaksanaan English Proficiency Test bagi syarat-syarat kemasukan yang terdahulu adalah ditiadakan. Oleh itu, kelulusan Bahasa Inggeris akan dijadikan kriteria utama kemasukan. 

Para pemohon mestilah mempunyai kelulusan minima Bahasa Inggeris seperti berikut:

• Gred Credit 6 dalam GCE ‘O’ Level English Language; atau
• Gred B dalam IGCSE English as a Second Language; atau
• Markah 6.0 dalam International English Language Testing System (IELTS – Academic); atau
• Markah keseluruhan 550 dalam Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

Kelayakan Bahasa Inggeris ini selaras dengan syarat-syarat kelayakan bagi program Bachelor of Defence and Security Studies (BDSS) yang akan dianugerahkan oleh Universiti Brunei Darussalam kepada Pegawai-pegawai ABDB setelah lulus di ketiga-tiga kursus yang dikendalikan oleh Akademi Pertahanan ABDB; Kursus Pegawai Kadet, Junior Officer Development Course (JODC) dan Kursus Staf Pertengahan.  ​
