Point taken. Having said that, one can often see advice saying you should drop whatever “lame” hobbies you have if you want to have any success with women. If you play computer games, stop it altogether or do it in strict moderation. If you draw anime figurines, stop it because you come across as a loser creep. If you collect militaria, drop it because it scares women off. If you play airsoft, drop it because you come across as a right-wing gun nut loser. Don’t have any nerdy activities because they are a sign that you’re a loser.
