Developing computer games, and running an IT company in general, is one thing, being a gamer is another.
Being a gamer is one of those fringe young man’s activities that everyone (i.e. females and older men) pisses on until it turns big, then everyone wants a part of it. The girls’ interest is piqued now that top video gamers are earning some serious cash.
And every male counterculture has its groupies. It’s been remarked that there is nothing that a man can do better than another man that some woman won’t fuck him for. I think the original comment was made in regards to professional bass fishing, which from a distance looks just as pointless as video gaming.
