ENGINEER TRAINING (ASET) AND AIR SYSTEM MANAGERS TRAINING (ASMT) IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

Royal Air Force (RAF) Cosford, the United Kingdom, 13 December 2024 – Lieutenant (U) Mohd Amirul Ariff bin Haji Awang Mohd Manan from No. 5 Wing, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), has successfully completed the Aerosystems Specialist Engineer Training (ASET) Course 21 and Air System Managers Training (ASMT) Course 20, at Royal Air Force (RAF) Cosford in the United Kingdom.

The six-month programme, held from 3 June to 13 December 2024, comprised two key components. The ASET Course, an intensive 20-week programme, provided students with progressive Rotational Assessment Phases (RAP), each increasing in complexity. The course covered essential engineering aspects, including academic foundations, Engineering Officer skills, armament systems, airworthiness principles, and management practices. Participants also gained insights into Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation (CAMO) and Delivery Team (DT) roles, as well as broader RAF maintenance and operational work practices, enhancing transferable engineering skills.

Following the ASET Course, Lieutenant (U) Mohd Amirul Ariff continued with the ASMT Course, which focused on preparing students for Engineering Officer roles within an operational engineering squadron.

The ASET Graduation Ceremony was held on 7 November 2024 at Building 143, RAF Cosford, and was officiated by Air Vice-Marshal Phil Brooker OBE MSc Beng CEng FIET RAF, Director Air Fixed Wing RAF. On 13 December 2024, Lieutenant (U) Mohd Amirul Ariff successfully completed the ASMT Course and was awarded his certificate of completion.

PEGAWAI TENTERA UDARA DIRAJA BRUNEI BERJAYA MENAMATKAN KURSUS AEROSYSTEMS SPECIALIST ENGINEER TRAINING (ASET) DAN AIR SYSTEM MANAGERS TRAINING (ASMT) DI UNITED KINGDOM

Royal Air Force (RAF) Cosford, United Kingdom – Leftenan (U) Mohd Amirul Ariff bin Haji Awang Mohd Manan dari Cawangan No. 5, Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB), telah berjaya menamatkan Kursus Aerosystems Specialist Engineer Training (ASET) 21 dan Kursus Air System Managers Training (ASMT) 20 yang dijalankan di Royal Air Force (RAF) Cosford, United Kingdom.

Program selama enam bulan yang berlangsung dari 3 Jun hingga 13 Disember 2024 itu merangkumi dua komponen utama. Kursus ASET, latihan intensif selama 20 minggu, menyediakan peserta dengan Rotational Assessment Phases  (RAP) yang mencabar. Kursus ini meliputi aspek kejuruteraan utama termasuk asas akademik, kemahiran Pegawai Kejuruteraan, sistem persenjataan, prinsip airworthiness, dan amalan pengurusan. Pegawai tersebut juga diberi pendedahan mengenai peranan Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation (CAMO) dan Delivery Team (DT), serta amalan kerja penyelenggaraan dan operasi RAF yang lebih luas, meningkatkan lagi kemahiran kejuruteraan yang boleh digunakan dalam pelbagai peranan.

Selepas Kursus ASET, Leftenan (U) Mohd Amirul Ariff meneruskan dengan Kursus ASMT yang memberi tumpuan kepada persediaan untuk memikul peranan sebagai Pegawai Kejuruteraan dalam skuadron kejuruteraan operasi.

Majlis Penutup bagi Kursus ASET telah diadakan pada 7 November 2024 di Bangunan 143, RAF Cosford dan dirasmikan oleh Air Vice-Marshal Phil Brooker OBE MSc Beng CEng FIET RAF, Pengarah Air Fixed Wing RAF. Pada 13 Disember 2024, Leftenan (U) Mohd Amirul Ariff berjaya menamatkan Kursus ASMT dan menerima sijil tamat kursus.

Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei mengucapkan setinggi-tinggi tahniah kepada Leftenan (U) Mohd Amirul Ariff bin Haji Awang Mohd Manan atas dedikasi dan kejayaan beliau menamatkan kursus-kursus berprestij ini. Kejayaan ini mencerminkan komitmen beliau terhadap kecemerlangan profesional dan menyumbang kepada keberkesanan operasi TUDB.
