CENTRAL FLYING SCHOOL, THE ROYAL AIR FORCE, UNITED KINGDOM VISIT TO RBAirF
RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Friday, 23 September 2022 - Examiners from Central Flying School (CFS), the Royal Air Force (RAF) United Kingdom consisting of 04 Pilots and 02 Rear Crewmen, headed by Squadron Leader Morris Oxford, Officer Commanding CFS Helicopter Examinations, have visited the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF). CFS is the RAF's primary institution for the training of military flying instructors. Established in 1912, it is the longest existing flying training school.

The visit commenced from 16 September until 23 September 2022. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the standards of flying between Pilots and Crewmen as well as the standardization of documentation and the standard of procedures amongst the flying squadrons. The visit also focused on the standardization in delivering instructions from the RBAirF's qualified helicopter Pilots and Crewmen instructors in producing potential pilots and rear crew as well as maintaining a high standard and safe flying of the operational aircrews.  In addition, CFS also looked into Unmanned Air System Operations with 39 Squadron and provided guidance mainly on documentation.

During the visit, the CFS team flew in the Black Hawk S-70i with the 11 Squadron and the Jet Ranger with the 73 Squadron. The sorties flown were made up of both tasking and training sorties where the CFS team monitored the standards of the RBAirF's pilots and rear crewmen in completing their daily tasks.

The visit concluded with a debrief session with Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Commander of RBAirF. Also present were the Deputy Commander, RBAirF Board of Executive, Commanding Officer No. 1 Wing, Head of Aviation Standard and Evaluation, and Squadron Officer Commanding of 11 and 73 Squadron.

PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, Juma'at, 23 September 2022 – Kumpulan audit, penilai dan piawaian daripada Central Flying School (CFS), Royal Air Force (RAF), United Kingdom terdiri daripada 04 Juruterbang dan 02 Anak Buah Pesawat yang diketuai oleh Ketua Skuadron Morris Oxford, Pegawai Memerintah CFS, telah membuat lawatan ke Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB). CFS ialah institusi utama RAF untuk latihan jurulatih penerbangan tentera yang ditubuhkan pada tahun 1912, yang mana ia merupakan sekolah latihan terbang yang paling lama tertubuh.

Lawatan yang bermula dari 16 September hingga 23 September 2022 adalah untuk melaksanakan pemeriksaan penilai dan piawaian penerbangan antara Juruterbang dan Anak buah pesawat serta penyeragaman dokumentasi dan standard prosedur di kalangan skuadron terbang. Lawatan itu juga memberi tumpuan kepada penyeragaman dalam menyampaikan arahan daripada juruterbang helikopter dan Anak Buat Pesawat TUDB yang berkelayakan dalam menghasilkan Juruterbang dan Anak Buah Pesawat yang berpotensi serta mengekalkan piawaian tinggi dan keselamatan operasi penerbangan. Di samping itu, CFS juga melihat ke dalam operasi Unmanned Air System (UAS) dengan Skuadron 39 dan memberikan panduan terutamanya mengenai dokumentasi.

Semasa lawatan itu, pasukan CFS menaiki S-70i Black Hawk dengan Skuadron 11 dan Jet Ranger dengan Skuadron 73. Sorties penerbangan terdiri daripada penugasan dan latihan yang mana pasukan CFS memantau piawaian juruterbang TUDB dan Anak Buah Pesawat dalam melaksanakan tugas harian mereka.

Lawatan diakhiri dengan sesi taklimat bersama Brigedier Jeneral (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Pemerintah Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei. Turut hadir ialah Timbalan Pemerintah, Badan Eksekutif TUDB, Pegawai Pemerintah Cawangan No. 1 , Ketua PIawaian dan Penilaian, dan Pegawai Skuadron Memerintah Skuadron 11 dan 73.
