MUARA, Thursday 31 October 2013
– The newly completed facility buildings were officially handed over to
the user this morning in a ceremony held at the Muara Naval Base.
Following the recital of Surah Al
Fatihah at the beginning of the event, the token key was first presented
from the Contractor to the Director of Development and Works Services
(DDWS), Pg Hj Menudin bin Pg Lela Wijaya Pg Hj Yussof. The token was
then passed on to the Permanent Secretary (Administration and
Finance),Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Hajah Suriyah Binti Haji Umar who later
presented the token key to the Commander Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Yang
Mulia First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd
Hanifah which marked the official handing over of the facility buildings
to the Royal Brunei Navy.
The ceremony was then followed by Doa Selamat, and a tour of the facility buildings.
This project is one of the National
Development Projects under RKN 10, and has a value of approximately BND
44 million. The project commenced on 14 July 2011 and took twenty and
half months to be completed on 31 March 13.
The facilities and buildings provided under this project are as follows:
1. Ship sheds and workshop building
2. Weapons and Electronic Workshop building
3. Technical office building
4. Battery shop building
5. Car parks: parking space for 170 vehicles.
The Principal and C&S Consultant is HAHD Engineering & Associates, and the M&E Consultant is Jurutera Perunding LCE.
Also present at the ceremony was the
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development) Yang Mulia
Hj Hamzah bin Hj Sulaiman. Other attendees included officers and staff
from DDWS, RBN, Consultants and Contractor.
