 COLONEL (U) HAJI MOHAMMAD ALBADII SHAHNOEL
BIN HAJI MOHAMMAD NOEH



Born on 29 October 1977, Colonel (U) Haji Mohammad Albadii Shahnoel bin Haji Mohammad Noeh enlisted into the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in 1996. First, he underwent six-month Basic Military Training at the Training Institute. Then, he attended Officer Cadet training at the Royal Air Force (RAF) College Cranwell, the United Kingdom in 1997. Finally, he graduated as a Second Lieutenant into the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) as a Student Pilot. He was the first generation to fly the PC-7 MkII Pilatus at No. 3 Squadron. He acquired his Fixed-wing training in Brunei Darussalam for a year with the Pilatus PC-7 MkII Aircraft trainers. Later, he was sent to the Republic of Singapore to receive his Helicopter Pilot Wing.


Whilst embarking on an illustrious flying career, he was the first foreign Pilot in the Basic Flying Helicopter Training to be awarded the Best in Flying and Best Overall Student Award at the Republic of Singapore. Upon completing his Singapore stint, he was made an Operational Pilot at No. 4 Squadron in the Operations Wing.


After serving at No. 4 Squadron for almost two years, he was posted to His Majesty The Sultan’s Flight (HMSF). He served as His Majesty’s Pilot, Assistant Operations Manager, and Operations Manager from 26 November 2001 until 01 December 2015. He was responsible for every flight movement for His Majesty and members of the Royal families within the country and internationally. Throughout his tour in HMSF, he was also appointed as the Security Manager responsible for every aspect of security, including Aviation Security.


After 14 years in HMSF, he was honoured to be the first Commanding Officer for No. 3 Wing in the RBAirF. After one year of commanding No. 3 Wing, he was privileged to become the Head of Directing Staff for the Command and Staff College (CSC) RBAF, from August 2016 until May 2018. He then continued his tour of duty at the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) as Staff Officer Grade 1 Operations (Air) for six months before being given the post as Staff Officer Grade 1 Joint Planning up to July 2020. In July 2020, he was transferred to Joint Doctrine Warfare Center (JDWC) as Staff Officer Grade 1 Joint Warfare until November 2021. After that, he was posted back to RBAirF as the Chief of Staff at the RBAirF Headquarters.

Throughout his military career, he has vast experience in Joint Operations and Training in Bilateral, National and Multinational, including Security, Peacekeeping (PKO), Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercises and Operations. He also led the RBAF Task Force Support for COVID-19 and Head of the planner for Eksesais Perisai Kebangsaan (EPK) - a national security exercise, planners for the ASEAN Peacekeeping Exercise in Thailand and International HADR Exercise in Malaysia.

Amongst the Courses, Qualifications and Awards he obtained are as follows;

  • Best Foreign and Commonwealth Student during his Officer Cadet Training in RAF College Cranwell, The United Kingdom.
  • Top Student during the Basic Flying Training in Brunei and had his Advanced Fast Jet Lead-In Training.
  • Best in Flying and Best Overall Students during his Basic Flying Helicopter Training in the Republic of Singapore.
  • Best Written Paper during his Junior Staff Course (JSC).
  • Attended the first Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Command and Staff Course (CSC) in 2010 with achieving the qualification of PSC(j) and Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies with Distinction.
  • Obtained a Diploma in Aviation Security.
  • Attended the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Executive Development Program (EDP) for Senior Officers.
  • He was awarded with Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (Meritorious Service Medal) and Pingat Kerja Lama dan Perangai Baik (Tentera) (Long Service Medal dan Good Behavior (Military)).

​Colonel (U) Albadii is married to Hajah Ratna Dewi Binti Abdullah and has five children. He enjoys physical outdoor activities like Hiking, Boot Camp and Cross-fit, including gym workouts.
