Commanding Officer No.1 Wing

Lt Col (U) Awg Muhammad Amiruddin started his career with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces in September 1998, and was commissioned as Lieutenant one year later after graduating his initial Officer Training at the Royal Air Force College in Cranwell, United Kingdom.

Prior to his current post as Commanding Officer of No. 1 Wing at Royal Brunei Air Force, he was posted to the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces in January 2017 and became the Head of Leadership and Management Centre. Previously, he has held an appointment as Staff Officer Grade 1 Air, Directorate of Force Capability Development in October 2015.
During the earlier phase of his career, he was trained at No. 3 Squadron/Flying Training School in October 1999 and became an operational pilot at No. 2 Squadron for almost 11 years. During that tour, he was also appointed as Flight Commander Operation No. 2 Squadron in 2009 and Squadron Commander No. 2 Squadron in 2012.
After completing his RBAF Command and Staff Course, he was posted to Royal Brunei Air Force Headquarters as Staff Officer Grade 2 Operation and Planning in May 2014. Additionally, he had the opportunity to serve as International Monitoring Team in Mindanao, Philippines from September 2010 to September 2011.
Among the courses that he attended were Junior Staff Course in 2005, Advanced Air Power Course in 2009, Command and Staff Course in 2013 and Executive Development Programme in 2016. He also obtained his Master of International Security from Massey University, New Zealand in 2014.
As of November 2015, he was promoted to Lt Col. He has been honoured with Pingat Indah Kerja Baik in 2009 and Pingat Jasa Kebaktian in 2013.
Lt Col (U) Awg Muhammad Amiruddin is married to Dr. Sarena bte Hj Hashim and is blessed with four children. During his free time, he enjoys cycling.
