COLONEL (U) MUHAMMAD WALEE
BIN HAJI ROSLIE

Lieutenant Colonel (U) Muhammad Walee
bin Haji Roslie was appointed as Commanding Officer of No 1 Wing, Operations
Group, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) on the 01st of November 2021.
His previous command and staff positions includes the Head of Standards and
Evaluation and acting Head of Inspectorate Unit of the RBAirF.
He enlisted in the Royal Brunei Armed
Forces (RBAF) in 2000 and graduated from the Initial Officer
Training (IOT) at the Royal Air Force (RAF) Cranwell, United Kingdom where
he earned his commission as
Second Lieutenant in 2002. He later served as an Air Regiment officer prior to
embarking towards his operational flying career in 2005.
As an experienced operational pilot in the
RBAirF, he since flew flight operations with the Bell 212 helicopter from 2006
through 2014 with No 1 Sqn. In 2011, he was deployed to Mindanao, Philippines
for over a year to serve under the umbrella of the International Monitoring
Team (IMT). In 2013, he completed the Helicopter Instructor's Course with the
Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) as a Qualified Helicopter Instructor
(QHI). Upon his return, he spearheaded the then newly introduced Blackhawk
S-70i project and oversaw its development through its initial operational
capabilty in Brunei as No 11 and No 14 Squadron Commander.
His professional military education also
includes the Air Regiment Officer Course, Junior Officer Staff Course, and
Command and Staff Course (Post Graduate Diploma in International Security) and
Executive Development Programme.
For his contributions, Lieutenant
Colonel (U) Muhammad Walee was bestowed the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian
(P.J.K) by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. He
also received the Military Merit Medal from the Philippine Armed Forces, and
was awarded the first RBAirF Flight Safety Champion (Gold Class).
He is married with two children and
enjoys outdoor fitness activities with his family.
