Colonel (U) Hamsani Haji Abdul Hamid was commissioned into the 2nd Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Force in December 1987 as a 2nd Lt, holding the post of Platoon Comd. After a tour as a Platoon Commander he went on to continue his studies.
He graduated from the Royal Military College of Science, Shrivenham, UK in 1992 where he did a BEng in Aeronautical Engineering. He was then posted to the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) as the Support Wing Technical Adjutant and thereafter went on to do his Aeronautical Engineering Officer Training in RAF Cranwell, UK.
He was then consecutively posted as the Squadron Engineering Officer, Officer Commanding Support Flight, and Staff Officer Grade 2 Maintenance at RBAirF HQ. He was appointed as the Commanding Officer of Logistics Wing (end of 2002 to 2008) before being posted out of RBAirF. He was assigned as the Director of Logistics, Ministry of Defence from end of 2008 to 2012 after which he was appointed as the Deputy Joint Force Commander, Joint Force Headquarters until September 2015. After a period of almost 8 years he is now back in RBAirF assigned as the Deputy Commander RBAirF and Commander of Support Group (CSG) from September 2015.
His training includes the Advanced Command and Staff Course in Kuala Lumpur, the Senior Logistics Management Course in Cranwell, and a Strategic Studies Masters Degree from the National Resilience Institute in Jakarta.
Colonel (U) Hamsani is married to Hartini binti Salleh and they are blessed with 2 daughters, Syasya and Kyra. He enjoys gardening and walking.
