RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Thursday, 15 August 2024 - Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Commander attended the Pacific Air Forces Video Tele-Conference (PAC VTC) hosted by General Kevin B. Schneider, U.S. Pacific Air Force Chief. A total of 20 Air Chiefs from the Pacific region participated in the Video Tele-Conference that discussed areas relating to the topic of Base Defence from Unmanned Aerial System (UAS).
The conference began with opening remarks from the U.S. Pacific Air Force Chief and proceeded with the respective Air Chief address. The aim of the conference is to create a shared knowledge of the risks posed by UAS in air bases and how Base Defence can defend against such threats.
The commander of the RBAirF conveyed his appreciation for the invitation to attend the PAC VTC and emphasised on how modern UAS have advanced its technologies to operate in densely populated urban areas.
PAC VTC is a quarterly conference hosted by the U.S. Pacific Air Forces where Air Forces from the pacific region would discuss bilateral and multilateral defence including security matters in efforts to maintain the stability of the region from an air force perspective.

Schneider, Pemerintah Tentera Udara Pasifik, Amerika Syarikat. Seramai 20 orang Pemerintah-pemerintah Angkatan Udara dari rantau Pasifik telah menghadiri sesi tersebut yang membincangkan tentang aspek berkaitan dengan tajuk

Persidangan dimulakan dengan ucapan pembukaan dari Pemerintah Tentera Udara Pasifik, Amerika Syarikat dan diteruskan dengan ucapan dari Pemerintah-pemerintah Angkatan Udara. Matlamat persidangan itu adalah untuk mengongsikan pengetahuan bersama tentang risiko dari ancaman
UAS di pangkalan udara dan bagaimana Pertahanan Pangkalan boleh menangani ancaman tersebut.
Pemerintah TUDB telah menyampaikan penghargaannya diatas undangan bagi menghadiri
PAC VTC tersebut dimana Pemerintah TUDB memberi tumpuan bagaimana teknologi
UAS telah berkembang untuk beroperasi di kawasan bandar yang mempunyai penduduk padat.
PAC VTC merupakan persidangan suku tahun yang dianjurkan oleh Tentera Udara Pasifik Amerika Syarikat dimana pemerintah serta perwakilan tentera udara dari rantau pasifik bersidang untuk membincangkan hal dua hala dan pelbagai hala dalam isu pertahanan dari perspektif udara serta menerokai peluang-peluang kerjasama dari pelbagai aspek dengan Angkatan sahabat.
