BERAKAS GARRISON, Sunday, 18 July 2021 – A Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel from the Logistic Depot, Combat Service Support, Royal Brunei Land Force (CSS RBLF), Sergeant Tommy bin Tony, embraced Islam in a function held at Surau Al-Faizun, Berakas Garrison today and chose Mohammad Azhrin Azhar bin Abdullah Tony as his Muslim name.
The function began with the recital of verses from the holy Al-Quran and the declaration of
Syahadah (declaration of faith) by Sergeant Tommy bin Tony, led by an officer from the Islamic Da'wah Centre.
The function was witnessed by the Guest of Honour, Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces as well as service commanders, military directors, Brunei-Muara District Officer, Assistant Director of the Islamic Da'wah Centre, Penghulu of Mukim Berakas ‘B’ and Head of Village of Lambak Kiri, officers from the RBAF and the Islamic Da'wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as family members of the new convert.
The function was then followed by the
Dikir
Marhaban and the sprinkling of
bunga rampai as well as the presentation of memento from the Guest of Honour to Sergeant Mohammad Azhrin Azhar bin Abdullah Tony and concluded with a
Doa
Selamat and refreshments.
ANGGOTA DEPOH LOGISTIK MEMELUK AGAMA ISLAM
BERAKAS GARISON, Ahad, 18 Julai 2021– Seorang anggota Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) dari Depoh Logistik, Khidmat Bantuan Kombat, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (KBK TDDB), Sarjan Tommy bin Tony telah memeluk agama Islam di sebuah majlis yang diadakan di Surau Al-Faizun, Berakas Garison dan telah memilih Mohammad Azhrin Azhar bin Abdullah Tony sebagai nama Islamnya.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan ayat-ayat suci Al-Quran, diikuti dengan lafaz Syahadah oleh Sarjan Tommy bin Tony, yang dipimpin oleh pegawai dari Pusat Da'wah Islamiah.
Majlis tersebut disaksikan oleh Tetamu Kehormat iaitu Mejar Jeneral (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei, dan juga Pemerintah-pemerintah Angkatan Tentera, Pengarah-Pengarah Tentera, Pegawai Daerah Brunei-Muara, Penolong Pengarah Pusat Da'wah Islamiah, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama, Penghulu Mukim Berakas ‘B’, Ketua Kampung Lambak Kiri, pegawai-pegawai ABDB dan Pusat Da'wah Islamiah, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama, serta ahli keluarga anggota yang baru masuk Islam.
Majlis seterusnya diserikan dengan laungan Dikir Marhaban, taburan bunga rampai dan penyampaian cenderahati kenang-kenangan daripada Pemerintah ABDB kepada Sarjan Mohammad Azhrin Azhar bin Abdullah Tony dan diakhiri dengan bacaan Doa Selamat serta jamuan pagi.
