BRUNEI DARUSSALAM, Saturday, 3 August 2024 – The Brunei phase of the 13th Brunei-Singapore Defence Scholars Development Programme (SDP) has successfully concluded with a closing ceremony held at the Radisson Hotel, reaffirming the special relationship between the Ministry of Defence of Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore.
Present at the closing ceremony as guests of honour were, Brigadier General (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam and Brigadier General Frederick Choo, Deputy Secretary (Policy), Ministry of Defence, Republic of Singapore.
The 13th Brunei-Singapore Defence Scholars Development Programme celebrated under the theme "Building Foundations for Future Leaders" highlights the critical importance of laying a strong foundation in leadership and personal development.
The scholars consist of six (06) scholars from the Ministry of Defence, Republic of Singapore, four (04) scholars of the Ministry of Defence Brunei Darussalam, and two (02) invited scholars from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Sultan’s Scholar.
Amongst the activities in the Brunei Phase were team-building activities, physical challenges, canopy walking, understanding Brunei Darussalam by engaging with local communities and learning about Brunei’s heritage and the community service project.
This Brunei phase will be subsequently followed by the Singapore phase from 4 to 10 August 2024.

13th Brunei-Singapore Defence Scholars Development Programme (SDP) telah berjaya disempurnakan di Hotel Radisson, memperkukuhkan lagi hubungan istimewa di antara Kementerian Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Singapura.
Hadir selaku tetamu-tetamu kehormat ialah Brigedier Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin, Setiausaha Tetap, Kementerian Pertahanan, Brunei Darussalam dan Brigedier Jeneral Frederick Choo, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Dasar), Kementerian Pertahanan, Republik Singapura.
13th Brunei-Singapore Defence Scholars Development Programme (SDP) bertemakan "Membina Asas untuk Pemimpin Masa Depan" ini menekankan kepentingan kritikal dalam membina asas yang kukuh dalam kepimpinan dan pembangunan peribadi.
Para peserta terdiri daripada enam (06) penerima biasiswa daripada Kementerian Pertahanan, Republik Singapura; empat (04) penerima biasiswa daripada Kementerian Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam dan dua (02) peserta jemputan iaitu penerima biasiswa daripada
Sultan’s Scholar Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
Antara aktiviti-aktiviti fasa Brunei ialah kerja berpasukan termasuk cabaran fizikal,
canopy walking, program mengenali Brunei dengan melibatkan diri dengan komuniti tempatan dan mempelajari warisan Brunei, dan projek khidmat masyarakat.
Fasa Brunei ini akan diikuti dengan program fasa Singapura yang akan berlangsung dari 4 hingga 10 Ogos 2024.
