PRIME MINISTER'S OFFICE, Thursday, 8 August 2024 – Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Defence II received a farewell call from His Excellency Major General (Retired) Farhat Abbas Sani, High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam today.
During the call, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Defence II expressed appreciation to His Excellency for his commitment and contribution as High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam since 20 October 2022. During the farewell call, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the friendly state of bilateral defence relations.
Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan established diplomatic relations on 9 February 1984. Both countries also reached a milestone of the 20th anniversary of defence cooperation, since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in Defence Cooperation in May 2004.

JABATAN PERDANA MENTERI, Khamis, 8 Ogos 2024 – Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri dan Menteri Pertahanan II telah menerima kunjungan perpisahan daripada Tuan Yang Terutama Mejar Jeneral (Bersara) Farhat Abbas Sani, Pesuruhjaya Tinggi Republik Islam Pakistan ke Negara Brunei Darussalam hari ini.
Semasa kunjungan tersebut, Yang Berhormat Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri dan Menteri Pertahanan II merakamkan penghargaan kepada Tuan Yang Terutama di atas komitmen dan sumbangan beliau sebagai Pesuruhjaya Tinggi Republik Islam Pakistan ke Negara Brunei Darussalam semenjak 20 Oktober 2022. Semasa kunjungan perpisahan tersebut, kedua-dua pihak juga merakamkan rasa puas hati atas hubungan pertahanan yang baik antara kedua negara.
Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Islam Pakistan telah menjalinkan hubungan diplomatik pada 9 Februari 1984. Kerjasama pertahanan kedua buah negara telah mencapai usia 20 tahun semenjak penandatangan Memorandum Persefahaman mengenai Kerjasama Pertahanan pada Mei 2004.
