RIMBA, Friday, 24 June 2016 –The Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) officiated its 50th anniversary and Golden Jubilee with the launching of the Royal Brunei Air Force 50th anniversary Sculpture and new time capsules at the Air Movement Center Rimba Air Base as one of the significant event which has been scheduled in celebrating the RBAirF 50th anniversary. The event also included the planting of four new time capsules which will be preserved and opened in the next 25 years for the future Air Force generation on the 24th June 2041.
The RBAirF 50th anniversary Sculpture took 2 months to be completed and was built fully in house by the Royal Brunei Air Force TEMD staff and attachment students of Universiti Teknologi Brunei, by utilising scrap materials available. The Guest of Honour was the Commander of the RBAirF Brigadier General (U) Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma'awiah. The launching ceremony of the RBAirF 50th anniversary sculpture was attended by senior officers, officers and invited guests.
The Commander Operation Group RBAirF as the RBAirF 50th anniversary Chairman convey his satisfaction and appreciation of what the team had design and that the launching of the sculpture will not only signify the celebration of this historic 50th anniversary but also highlights the relations and significant contribution from each individual within the RBAirF between either military and civilian departments which drive and shape RBAirF of what it become today.
The ceremony began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a brief presentation and the delivery of certificate of appreciation to the TEMD staff and Universiti Teknologi Brunei students. The peak of the event was the cutting of ribbon by the Guest of Honour, Brigadier General (U) Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma'awiah to officiate the RBAirF 50th anniversary sculpture and time capsule. The event concluded with a group photo session and a Doa Selamat.
