KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, Wednesday, 10 September 2025 – Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), attended the 22nd ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting (22nd ACDFM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The meeting was chaired by General Tan Sri Haji Mohd Nizam bin Haji Jaffar, Chief of Defence Force, Malaysian Armed Forces with the theme “ASEAN Unity for Security and Prosperity”.
The Commander of the RBAF was accompanied by the Joint Force Commander, who served as RBAF’s Head of the 15th ASEAN Military Operations Meeting (AMOM) and the Director of Intelligence, who served as RBAF’s Head of the 22nd ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting (AMIM). Both AMOM and AMIM were held concurrently from 6 to 9 September 2025, in preparation for the 22nd ACDFM.
During the 22nd ACDFM, the ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces agreed to adopt the ASEAN Militaries Two-Year Activity Work Plan for 2025-2027 and signed the 22nd ACDFM Joint Statement. Meanwhile, in the exchange of views session, the Commander of the RBAF shared perspectives on several security challenges, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation and dialogue among member countries to address complex and evolving security issues. Reflecting on this year’s theme, the Commander of the RBAF highlighted the importance of ACDFM as a platform for ASEAN militaries as it provides opportunities to foster understanding, strengthen relationships and address mutual concerns.
The meeting concluded with the handover ceremony of the ACDFM Chairmanship to General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, who will serve as Chairman of the 23rd ACDFM in 2026.
In addition, the Commander of the RBAF held separate bilateral meetings with several ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces to discuss bilateral defence relations and cooperation.

Chiefs of Defence Forces Ke-22 (ACDFM Ke-22) di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mesyuarat dipengerusikan oleh Yang Berbahagia Jeneral Tan Sri Haji Mohd Nizam bin Haji Jaffar, Panglima Angkatan Tentera, Angkatan Tentera Malaysia dengan tema
“ASEAN Unity for Security and Prosperity”.
Pemerintah ABDB turut diiringi oleh Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama ABDB selaku Ketua bagi Mesyuarat ASEAN
Military Operations Ke-15 (AMOM Ke-15) dan juga Pengarah Perisikan selaku Ketua bagi Mesyuarat ASEAN
Military Intelligence Ke-22 (AMIM Ke-22). Kedua-dua AMOM dan AMIM telah diadakan secara serentak dari 6 hingga 9 September 2025, sebagai persediaan untuk ACDFM ke-22.
Semasa ACDFM Ke-22, Ketua-ketua Turus Pertahanan ASEAN telah bersetuju dengan Pelan Kerja Aktiviti-aktiviti Angkatan Tentera – Angkatan Tentera ASEAN dalam tempoh dua tahun 2025-2027 dan seterusnya menandatangani Kenyataan Bersama ACDFM Ke-22. Dalam sesi pertukaran pandangan, Pemerintah ABDB telah berkongsikan perspektif tentang cabaran-cabaran sekuriti di peringkat serantau dengan menekankan kepentingan kerjasama berterusan dan dialog antara negara anggota untuk menangani isu sekuriti yang kompleks dan sentiasa berubah. Dengan mengambil kira tema pada tahun ini, Pemerintah ABDB menekankan kepentingan ACDFM sebagai platform bagi Angkatan Tentera-Angkatan Tentera ASEAN dalam menyediakan pelbagai peluang untuk meningkatkan persefahaman, memperkuatkan hubungan dan membincangkan isu-isu berkepentingan bersama.
Mesyuarat diakhiri dengan Majlis Penyerahan Tugas Pengerusi ACDFM kepada Tuan Yang Terutama Jeneral Romeo S. Brawner Jr., Ketua Turus Angkatan Bersenjata Republik Filipina selaku Pengerusi ACDFM Ke-23 bagi tahun 2026 nanti.
Pemerintah ABDB juga telah mengadakan perjumpaan dua-hala secara berasingan dengan beberapa Ketua-ketua Turus Pertahanan ASEAN untuk membincangkan hubungan dan kerjasama pertahanan.
