MINISTRY OF DEFENCE’S 20TH EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (EDP 20/2025) OVERSEAS STUDY VISIT TO THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE


 

REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, Wednesday, 17 September 2025 – A total of 28 participants of the Ministry of Defence’s 20th Executive Development Programme (EDP) for Senior Government Officials in Public Policy and Management (EDP 20/2025) undertook a study visit to the Republic of Singapore from 15 to 17 September 2025. The delegation was led by Yang Mulia Dayangku Dr. Noor Hasharina binti Pengiran Haji Hassan, Director of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (SHHBIDSS). The programme was conducted in collaboration with its program provider, the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), National University of Singapore (NUS).


The objective of the study visit was to expose participants to challenges and solutions in public policy and governance regimes outside of Brunei Darussalam. With the theme of the sustainability, the Republic of Singapore was selected as the destination due to its significant advancements in technological adoption and leadership in the smart nation initiatives, making it a highly relevant choice for this purpose. 


In line with the theme, participants explored several strategic organization in the commercial and industrial sectors in the Republic of Singapore. They also had the opportunity to undertake hands-on site visits to key locations including the Smart Nation Cityscape, Singapore-ETH Centre, Jurong Integrated Hub, Marina Bay Financial Centre, and Keppel. 


Present at the Brunei International Airport to send off the delegation was Brigadier General (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence. The visit was further blessed with a recitation of a Doa Selamat recited by Lieutenant Colonel Ariffin bin Amit, one of the participants of EDP 20/2025.


The 20th EDP is a 14-week programme and is scheduled to conclude on 7 November 2025. 










LAWATAN SAMBIL BELAJAR KELUAR NEGERI KE REPUBLIK SINGAPURA BAGI PROGRAM PERKEMBANGAN EKSEKUTIF KALI KE-20 (EDP 20/2025) ANJURAN KEMENTERIAN PERTAHANAN


REPUBLIK SINGAPURA, Rabu, 17 September 2025Seramai dua puluh lapan orang peserta Program Perkembangan Eksekutif (EDP) ke-20 Kementerian Pertahanan bagi Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan dalam bidang Dasar Awam dan Pengurusan (EDP 20/2025) telah mengadakan lawatan sambil belajar ke Republik Singapura bermula 15 hingga 17 September 2025. Delegasi ini diketuai oleh Yang Mulia Dayangku Dr. Noor Hasharina binti Pengiran Haji Hassan, Pengarah Institut Pengajian Pertahanan dan Strategik Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (IPPSSHHB). Program berkenaan dikendalikan dengan kerjasama penyedia program iaitu  Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), National University of Singapore (NUS). 


Objektif lawatan sambil belajar ini adalah untuk memberikan pendedahkan kepada para peserta mengenai cabaran dan penyelesaian dalam dasar awam dan sistem tadbir urus di luar Negara Brunei Darussalam. Bertemakan kedayatahanan, Republik Singapura dipilih sebagai destinasi kerana kemajuan ketara negara tersebut dalam penerapan teknologi serta kepimpinan dalam inisiatif konsep negara pintar, sekaligus menjadikannya lokasi yang amat relevan bagi pembelajaran ini.


Selaras dengan tema berkenaan, para peserta berpeluang meninjau organisasi strategik dalam sektor komersial dan perindustrian di Republik Singapura secara langsung. Antara beberapa lokasi lawatan termasuk Smart Nation Cityscape, Singapore-ETH Centre, Jurong Integrated Hub, Marina Bay Financial Centre dan Keppel. 


Hadir di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei bagi mengucapkan selamat jalan kepada para delegasi ialah Brigedier Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin, Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Pertahanan.  Bagi memberkati  lawatan tersebut, bacaan Doa Selamat telah dibacakan oleh Leftenan Kolonel Ariffin bin Amit, salah seorang peserta EDP 20/2025. 


Program EDP Siri Ke-20 ini berlangsung selama 14 minggu dan dijadualkan akan berakhir pada 7 November 2025.
