BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Wednesday 11 December 2024 – The 19th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus Experts’ Working Group on Peacekeeping Operations (ADMM-Plus EWG on PKO) was held at the Rizqun International Hotel, Gadong.
The meeting was co-chaired by Yang Mulia Colonel (U) Hismawadi bin Haji Mohd Said, Head of the Joint Doctrine and Warfare Centre, Joint Force Headquarters Royal Brunei Armed Forces and Senior Colonel Zhang Qilin, Senior Officer for Peacekeeping J3, Joint Staff Department, the People's Liberation Army of China.
In attendance were Yang Mulia Marina binti Abdullah Sitau, Acting Director of Defence Policy, Ministry of Defence, along with representatives from both countries, namely Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Liberation Army of China. The year’s meeting was attended by 67 participants from ASEAN-Plus countries, ASEAN Secretariat as well as from the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste as an observer country.
The meeting commenced with a report from the ADMM-Plus EWG on PKO, shared by the Co-Chairs, which highlighted several activities throughout the first quarter of 5th cycle, 2024-2027. This meeting is one of the planned activities under the 5th Cycle of ADMM-Plus EWG on PKO which focuses on the theme “Current Challenges and Future Development of United Nation Peace-Keeping Operations”.
MESYUARAT KUMPULAN KERJA PAKAR OPERASI PENGAMAN MENTERI-MENTERI PERTAHANAN ASEAN PLUS KE-19 BERLANGSUNG DENGAN JAYANYA DI NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM PADA 9 HINGGA 11 DISEMBER 2024
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Rabu 11 Disember 2024 – Mesyuarat Kumpulan Kerja Pakar Operasi Pengaman Menteri-Menteri Pertahanan ASEAN Plus Ke-19 telah diadakan di Hotel Antarabangsa Rizqun, Gadong.
Mesyuarat tersebut dipengerusikan bersama oleh Yang Mulia Kolonel (U) Hismawadi bin Haji Mohd Said, Ketua Pusat Doktrin dan Peperangan Bersama, Markas Angkatan Bersama Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei dan Senior Colonel Zhang Qilin, Pegawai Kanan Pengaman J3, Jabatan Staf Bersama, Tentera Pembebasan Rakyat China.
Turut hadir di mesyuarat tersebut ialah Yang Mulia Marina binti Abdullah Sitau, Pemangku Pengarah Dasar Pertahanan, Kementerian Pertahanan, beserta perwakilan dari kedua-dua Negara, iaitu Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Tentera Pembebasan Rakyat China. Mesyuarat pada kali ini telah dihadiri oleh 67 peserta yang terdiri daripada perwakilan negara-negara ASEAN-Plus, Sekretariat ASEAN, serta wakil daripada Republik Demokratik Timor-Leste sebagai negara pemerhati.
Mesyuarat telah dimulakan dengan perkongsian laporan Kumpulan Kerja Pakar Operasi Pengaman ADMM-Plus daripada Pengerusi Bersama yang mengetengahkan beberapa aktiviti di sepanjang suku pertama kitaran Ke-5, 2024-2027. Mesyuarat ini merupakan salah satu aktiviti yang telah dirancang di bawah pelan kerja kitaran Ke-5 Kumpulan Kerja Pakar Operasi Pengaman ADMM-Plus yang membawakan tema “Current Challenges and Future Development of United Nation Peace-Keeping Operations”.
