RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Saturday, 14 December 2024 – A total of 29 personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), comprising of three officers and 26 other ranks, two of whom are female personnel, have safely returned to Brunei Darussalam this afternoon after completing a 12 month peacekeeping mission with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which began from 14 November 2023 to 16 November 2024.
The RBAF contingent MALBATT 850-11, led by Major Hafizi bin Sabli arrived at the Air Movement Centre, Rimba Air Force Base using the Royal Brunei Air Force C295MW transport aircraft. Their arrival was welcomed by the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Acting Commander of the RBAF.
Also present were His Excellency Datuk Mohd Aini Atan, High Commissioner-Designate of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, Members of the RBAF Executive Committee, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directors, Commandants, the Malaysian Defence Advisor to Brunei Darussalam, officers from the Ministry of Defence and families of the RBAF personnel involved in the mission.
Since 2008, the RBAF has continuously contributed to the UNIFIL peacekeeping mission, showing continuous commitment to international peace and stability as per the United Nations' Resolution 1701 (2006). This overseas mission aligns with the aspirations outlined in Brunei Darussalam’s Defence White Papers 2021. RBAF involvement in this peacekeeping mission not only enhances the RBAF’s reputation and its personnel but also strengthens the country’s role in international defence diplomacy.

MALAYSIAN BATTALION (MALBATT) 850-11 SELAMAT KEMBALI KE TANAH AIR
PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, Sabtu, 14 Disember 2024 – Seramai 29 anggota dari Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB), terdiri daripada tiga pegawai dan 26 lain-lain peringkat termasuk dua anggota askar wanita, telah selamat kembali ke Negara Brunei Darussalam petang ini setelah selesai melaksanakan misi pengaman selama 12 bulan dengan Pasukan Interim Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu di Lubnan (UNIFIL) bermula dari 14 November 2023 sehingga 16 November 2024.
Kontinjen ABDB MALBATT 850 -11 yang diketuai oleh Mejar Hafizi bin Sabli telah tiba di Pusat Pergerakan Udara, Pangkalan Tentera Udara Rimba menggunakan pesawat pengangkut C295MW Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei. Ketibaan mereka telah disambut oleh Tetamu Kehormat majlis, Yang Mulia Brigedier Jeneral (Udara) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohammad Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Pemangku Pemerintah ABDB.
Turut hadir ialah Tuan Yang Terutama Datuk Mohd Aini Atan, Bakal Pesuruhjaya Tinggi Malaysia ke Negara Brunei Darussalam, Ahli-ahli Jawatankuasa Eksekutif ABDB, wakil dari Kementerian Hal Ehwal Luar Negeri, Pengarah-pengarah, Komandan-komandan, Penasihat Pertahanan Malaysia ke Negara Brunei Darussalam, Pegawai-pegawai Kementerian Pertahanan, dan ahli keluarga anggota-anggota ABDB yang menyertai misi tersebut.
Sejak tahun 2008, ABDB telah menyumbang kepada misi pengaman UNIFIL, menunjukkan komitmen yang berterusan terhadap keamanan dan kestabilan antarabangsa di bawah Resolusi Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu 1701 (2006). Misi luar negara ini juga selaras dengan aspirasi yang telah digariskan dalam Kertas Putih Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam 2021. Penglibatan ABDB dalam misi pengaman ini bukan sahaja meningkatkan reputasi ABDB dan anggota-anggota yang terlibat, malah juga memperkukuhkan peranan negara dalam diplomasi pertahanan diperingkat antarabangsa.
