UNITED NATIONS SERVICE MEDAL AWARD AND MALAYSIAN BATTALION (MALBATT) 850-11 DISBANDMENT PARADE CEREMONY



​PORT DICKSON, Thursday, 12 December 2024 – The Awarding of the United Nations National Service (PNBB) Medal and the disbandment of the Malaysian Battalion (MALBATT) 850-11 contingent ceremony was officiated by Yang Berbahagia General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Panglima Mohammad bin Ab Rahman, Chief of Defence (CDF) of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) held at the Parade Ground of the Army Basic Training Center, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, this morning.

The arrival of MAF's CDF was welcomed by Yang Berbahagia Lieutenant General Dato' Noor Mohamed Akhmar Mohd Dom, Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), Joint Forces Commander (JFC) before the commencement of the ceremony.

Also present to witness the ceremony were the Services Commanders of the MAF and Yang Mulia Lieutenant Colonel Rudie Asmawi bin Abidin, the Defence Advisor of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia. The RBAF personnel for the MALBATT 850-11 contingent consist of 3 officers and 26 other ranks led by Major Mohd Hafizi bin Sabli
.

Throughout the mission in Lebanon, the MALBATT Contingent 850-11 has shown excellent discipline while proving the capabilities of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel in carrying out peacekeeping missions at an international level. The MALBATT 850-11 contingent also managed to maintain a good reputation as a peacekeeping force both domestically and internationally
.

The awarding of the PNBB Medal for the MALBATT contingent 850-11 is as a recognition and a sign of success of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission under the UN in Lebanon for 369 days where it was mobilised on 14 November 2023 until 16 November 2024
.

MAJLIS PERBARISAN PENGANUGERAHAN PINGAT PERKHIDMATAN NEGARA BANGSA-BANGSA BERSATU (PNBB) DAN PEMBUBARAN MALAYSIAN BATTALION (MALBATT) 850-11


PORT DICKSON, Khamis12 Disember 2024 - Majlis Perbarisan Penganugerahan Pingat Perkhidmatan Negara Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (Pingat PNBB) dan pembubaran Kontinjen Malaysian Battalion (MALBATT) 850-11 telah disempurnakan oleh Yang Berbahagia Jeneral Tan Sri Dato' Seri Panglima Mohammad bin Ab Rahman, Panglima Angkatan Tentera (PAT), Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) bertempat di Padang Kawad Pusat Latihan Asas Tentera Darat (PUSASDA), Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, pagi ini.


Ketibaan PAT disambut oleh Yang Berbahagia Leftenan Jeneral Dato’ Noor Mohamed Akhmar Mohd Dom, Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM), Panglima Angkatan Bersama (PAB) sebelum majlis diteruskan.


Turut hadir bagi menyaksikan majlis tersebut adalah Panglima-Panglima ATM dan Yang Mulia Leftenan Kolonel Rudie Asmawi bin Abidin, Penasihat Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam ke Malaysia. Anggota-anggota ABDB bagi Kontinjen MALBATT 850-11 terdiri daripada 3 pegawai dan 26 anggota lain-lain peringkat yang diketuai oleh Mejar Mohd Hafizi bin Sabli.


Disepanjang misi di Lubnan, Kontinjen MALBATT 850-11 telah mempamerkan disiplin dan mutu kerja yang cemerlang sekaligus membuktikan keupayaan serta kemampuan anggota-anggota Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) dalam melaksanakan misi pengaman di peringkat antarabangsa. Kontinjen MALBATT 850-11 juga berjaya mengekalkan reputasi baik selaku pasukan pengaman dikalangan masyarakat setempat dan antarabangsa.


Penganugerahan Pingat PNBB kepada Kontinjen MALBATT 850-11 adalah satu pengiktirafan dan satu lambang kejayaan semasa menjalankan misi pengaman United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) di bawah Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) di Lubnan selama 369 hari di mana ianya mula diaturgerak pada 14 November 2023 sehingga 16 November 2024.​
