RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Friday, 22 January 2026 - The Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF), successfully organised the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Swimming and Water Polo Championship featuring a special event in conjunction with the RBAF’s 64th Anniversary. The championship took place from 20 to 23 January 2026 at the Rimba Air Force Base Sports Complex.
For the RBAF swimming championship, the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) emerged as the overall champion after securing five gold medals, four silver medals and two bronze medals. The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) claimed the runner-up position, while the Combined Team and the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) finished in third and fourth places, respectively. Meanwhile, the RBN secured the overall championship for RBAF water polo championship with a strong 5-1 victory against Combined Team in the final. RBLF and RBAirF placed third and fourth, respectively.
Complementing the event, combined swimming and water polo matches were held in conjunction with the RBAF’ 64th Anniversary Special Event, to promote interaction and friendly competition between two teams comprising RBAF personnel and representatives from external agencies, including the Royal Brunei Police Force, Singapore Armed Forces, Fire and Rescue Department, and Prisons Department. In the event, Team Bravo emerged as champions in the combined group swimming match, while Team Alpha secured victory in the combined group water polo match.
The prize presentation was officiated by Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the RBAF and was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests from external agencies, including the The Acting Director of the Operations Department, the Deputy Chairman of the Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council, the Senior Superintendent of Fire and Rescue Department, the Assistant Senior Superintendent of Fire and Rescue, the Head of the Training Centre of the Prisons Department, and the Liaison Officer of the Singapore Armed Forces.
Overall, the event served as a platform to strengthen cohesion, teamwork, and joint-service camaraderie, while also showcasing the participants’ physical robustness and mental resilience. It reflected the RBAF’s ongoing commitment to fostering sportsmanship and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle within the organisation.
KEJOHANAN SUKAN RENANG DAN POLO AIR PERINGKAT ANGKATAN BERSENJATA DIRAJA BRUNEI (ABDB) DAN ACARA KHAS SEMPENA HARI ULANG TAHUN ABDB KE-64 TAHUN BERAKHIR DENGAN JAYANYA
PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, Juma’at, 22 Januari 2026 - Institut Latihan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (IL ABDB) telah berjaya menganjurkan Kejohanan Sukan Renang dan Polo Air Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) dan Acara Khas Hari Ulang Tahun ABDB Ke-64, yang berlangsung dari 20 hingga 23 Januari 2026 bertempat di Kompleks Sukan, Pangkalan Tentera Udara Rimba.
Bagi kejohanan sukan renang peringkat ABDB, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) muncul sebagai juara keseluruhan selepas meraih lima pingat emas, empat pingat perak dan dua pingat gangsa. Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) muncul sebagai naib juara, manakala Pasukan Gabungan dan Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) masing-masing menduduki tempat ketiga dan keempat. Sementara itu, Pasukan Gabungan telah menjuarai kejohanan polo air peringkat ABDB dengan kemenangan 10–1 ke atas TLDB pada perlawanan akhir. Manakala, TDDB dan TUDB masing-masing menduduki tempat ketiga dan keempat.
Bersempena Acara Khas Hari Ulang Tahun ABDB ke-64, perlawanan renang dan polo air secara gabungan telah diadakan, bagi mempereratkan hubungan serta perlawanan persahabatan antara dua pasukan yang terdiri daripada anggota ABDB dan wakil-wakil agensi luar, termasuk Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei, Angkatan Bersenjata Singapura, Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat, serta Jabatan Penjara. Dalam acara tersebut, Pasukan Bravo muncul sebagai juara bagi acara renang berkumpulan gabungan, manakala Pasukan Alpha menjuarai perlawanan polo air berkumpulan gabungan.
Majlis penyampaian hadiah telah disempurnakan oleh Yang Mulia Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Pemerintah ABDB, dan turut dimeriahkan oleh kehadiran beberapa jemputan khas daripada agensi luar, termasuk Pemangku Pengarah Jabatan Gerakan, Timbalan Pengurusi Majlis Sukan Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei, Penguasa Kanan Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat, Penolong Penguasa Kanan Bomba dan Penyelamat, Ketua Pusat Latihan Jabatan Penjara, dan Pegawai Perhubungan Angkatan Bersenjata Singapura.
Secara keseluruhan, Kejohanan ini menjadi platform penting dalam memperkukuh perpaduan serta kerjasama berpasukan, di samping menyerlahkan ketahanan fizikal dan mental para peserta. Usaha ini mencerminkan komitmen berterusan ABDB dalam memupuk semangat kesukanan dan menggalakkan gaya hidup sihat serta aktif dalam organisasi.
