MUARA, Wednesday, 9 November 2022 – The opening ceremony for the
9th ASEAN Navy Young Officer Interaction (ANYOI) hosted by the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was held at Dewan Nakhoda, Naval Training Centre, RBN.
The opening ceremony commenced with an opening remark by Commander Willie @ Mathias bin Padan, Commandant Naval Training, RBN where he welcomed delegations consisting of junior officers from ASEAN member states’ navies.
This was then followed by a seminar themed “The Role of Future Leaders in Addressing Maritime Challenges” moderated by Lieutenant Commander Najihah binti Haji Abdul Hisab, RBN. Amongst the panellists were Lieutenant Commander Ade Roddiane bin Haji Mohd Rosdi, RBN, Lieutenant Commander Wan Abdul Naafi bin Metussin, RBN, and Captain Nabil Suhairidhwan bin Awang from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Judge Advocate General Office. The delegates discussed on “Young Leaders’ Contribution to ASEAN Maritime Security” and “Future Leaders’ Perspectives on the Region’s Maritime Security Architecture” where participants also visited RBN’s DARUSSALAM-Class Patrol Vessel.
The 9th ANYOI, held for five days from 07 to 11 November 2022, had gathered two junior officers from each ASEAN member states navies and representatives including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.
As one of the initiatives under the ambit of the ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting (ANCM) conducted annually, ANYOI aimed to promote cross-cultural understanding, strengthen friendship, and enhance the spirit of solidarity amongst ASEAN Navies. The 9th ANYOI represented RBN’s continued commitment towards enhancing regional cooperation by providing a platform to build people-to-people relationships amongst the future leaders of ASEAN Navies.
TENTERA LAUT DIRAJA BRUNEI TUAN RUMAH BAGI ASEAN NAVY YOUNG OFFICER INTERACTION (ANYOI) KE-9
MUARA, Rabu, 9 November 2022 – Majlis perasmian ASEAN Navy Young Officers Interaction (ANYOI) kali ke-9 yang dihoskan oleh Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) telah diadakan di Dewan Nakhoda, Pusat Latihan Tentera Laut, TLDB.
Majlis perasmian dimulakan dengan ucapan alu-aluan daripada Komander Willie @ Mathias bin Padan, Komandan Latihan Laut, TLDB di mana beliau mengalu-alukan delegasi yang terdiri dari pegawai-pegawai muda tentera laut negara-negara ASEAN.
Ini diikuti dengan seminar yang membawa tema “The Role of Future Leaders in Addressing Maritime Challenges” yang dikendalikan oleh Leftenan Komander Najihah binti Haji Abdul Hisab, TLDB. Antara ahli-ahli panel adalah Leftenan Komander Ade Roddiane bin Haji Mohd Rosi, TLDB, Leftenan Komander Wan Abdul Naafi bin Metussin, TLDB, dan Kapten Nabil Suhairidhwan bin Awang dari Pejabat Perundangan Tentera, Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB).
Para peserta turut membincangkan topik “Young Leaders’ Contribution to ASEAN Maritime Security” dan “Future Leaders’ Perspectives on the Region’s Maritime Security Architecture” di mana para peserta turut membuat lawatan ke kapal peronda kelas-DARUSSALAM.
ANYOI kali ke-9 yang diadakan selama lima hari bermula 7 hingga 11 November 2022 telah mengumpulkan dua orang wakil pegawai muda dari setiap tentera laut negara-negara ASEAN yang merangkumi Negara Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Filipina, Singapura, Thailand dan Viet Nam.
Sebagai salah satu inisiatif di bawah naungan ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting (ANCM) yang dikendalikan setiap tahun, ANYOI bertujuan untuk menggalakkan kesefahaman budaya, menguatkan perhubungan, dan meningkatkan semangat perpaduan di antara angkatan-angkatan tentera laut ASEAN. ANYOI kali ke-9 melambangkan komitmen TLDB yang berterusan dalam meningkatkan kerjasama serantau dengan penyediaan platform untuk membina hubungan di antara bakal pemimpin-pemimpin angkatan-angkatan tentera laut ASEAN.
